Soft Tissue Manual Therapy

How Soft Tissue Is Treated at Ishkriti Physiocare

At Ishkriti, soft tissue treatment is an essential part of our physiotherapy approach. We focus on relieving pain, restoring mobility, reducing stiffness, and improving muscle function through evidence-based manual therapy techniques.

Our soft tissue treatment includes:

🔹 Deep Tissue & Therapeutic Massage

We apply controlled manual pressure to release chronic muscle tension, improve blood circulation, break down adhesions, and reduce muscle stiffness. This helps in faster recovery from injuries, overuse, and stress-related tightness.

🔹 Myofascial Release (MFR)

Fascia is a thin, web-like connective tissue that surrounds all muscles and organs. When fascia becomes tight or restricted, it causes pain and limited movement.
Our therapists use gentle, sustained pressure to release fascial restrictions, improving mobility and reducing chronic pain.

🔹 Muscle Energy Techniques (MET)

A gentle, active technique where the patient uses their muscle strength against therapist-applied resistance. This helps:

  • Lengthen shortened muscles

  • Improve joint mobility

  • Reduce muscle tightness

  • Restore normal movement patterns

🔹 Trigger Point Therapy

Myofascial trigger points (MTPs) are tight, tender knots inside the muscle that often cause pain in another region (referred pain).
We locate and release these trigger points using precise pressure techniques to:

  • Reduce pain

  • Improve muscle function

  • Restore normal movement

🔹 Manual Lymphatic Drainage

This technique uses very light, rhythmic movements to stimulate lymph flow and reduce swelling.
Ideal for:

  • Post-injury swelling

  • Post-surgery cases

  • Lymphedema

  • Chronic inflammation

🔹 Neural Mobilisation

When nerves get compressed or irritated, they lose their ability to glide smoothly.
We gently mobilise and glide the nerves to:

  • Reduce nerve pain

  • Improve mobility

  • Decrease sensations like tingling, burning, or numbness

🔹 Soft Tissue Manipulation

This includes a combination of massage, pressure techniques, and stretching to treat:

  • Muscle stiffness

  • Scar tissue

  • Soft tissue injuries

  • Overuse strains

  • Poor posture–related tightness

It helps relax muscles, improve circulation, restore tissue elasticity, and promote long-term healing.

Soft tissue therapy Benefits

  • Relieves muscle tension, tightness, and spasms

  • Promotes better blood circulation and faster tissue healing

  • Reduces soft tissue inflammation and swelling

  • Improves flexibility, mobility, and overall movement quality

  • Enhances posture by correcting muscle imbalances

  • Alleviates pain from overuse, sports injuries, or daily stress

  • Supports recovery after exercise, injury, or surgery

  • Induces relaxation and reduces physical and mental stress

  • Prepares the body for exercise, rehabilitation, or sport-specific training
